Life is a journey. There are many journeys we travel in this life. The journey of childhood, single-hood, marriage, middle age, old age, poverty, riches, etc. You may pick a theme, and travel your own personal journey through the months, maybe years, and still, maybe a lifetime.
So you may ask, "Just what kind of journey are we talking about here?" I am glad you asked. I will say, "It is my journey." It is a journey on purpose, and a journey of principles. It is a journey of change and discovery.
It has almost been a year that I've walked with my husband into new territory. A foreign territory to me, sales. But who better to walk through instruction with, and learn superior skills from than Mark J., originator of Grow90Grow. Then a longer journey was purposed. This is a journey of Decisiveness. A scholarship was available, but it had to be earned. I was in earnest. A scholarship I received, and with much gratitude to Mark J, Davene, and the rest of the Go90Grow Team.
I have approached this first week with two emotions; excitement and trepidation. Oh my, I am 55 years old, and I am going back to school. I purchased the required school supplies with the giddiness of a school girl. I even took pictures to send to family and friends. But in all seriousness, much is required of me.
Although the lessons, the webcasts, the reading, and writing are arduous, I find them enjoyable. After HOURS of setting Objectives, Actions, Times, and setting the Schedule--things began falling into place.
From the Master Key System written by Charles E. Haanel we learn, "The world without is a reflection of the world within...We are related to the world within by the subconscious mind. The Solar Plexus is the organ of this mind.." I am beginning to see IDEAS in a new light. "What Power do my thoughts have over my life?" So, I will be training my brain.
I never took a class in Philosophy or Metaphysics in college, but I think I am traveling down that avenue currently.
Taking the Liberty to sit and THINK, this is an exhilarating exercise for me. This is a requirement of me now...to do this every day without fail. "To think on what?" you might ask. My answer, " ...whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever thing are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things."Philippians 4:8--That is excitingly broad in its spectrum!
Og Mandino's book, The World's Greatest Salesman in the World is daily reading as well. The story is fascinating, and the scrolls enclosed within the ancient writings hold great interest for me.
I will learn a new principle every thirty days, and thoroughly acquaint myself with it, so as it becomes a habit. A good habit. Have you heard of Bill Gothard? When our kids were young, while we were home educating them--we attended several Basic Life Principle Workshops, and later the Advanced Training Institute. The focus seems similar to the Master Key System, Living by Principle, and Living on Purpose. What is my Major Definite Purpose? What is my Burning Desire in life?.."...bringing every THOUGHT into captivity to the obedience of Christ..." 2 Corinthians 5.
My journey continues...You are put on notice...My Solar Plexus never sleeps. Now how exciting is that?
