It Exists, It is Real, It is Possible, It's Yours
What we think matters!
"The world within is governed by mind. When we discover this world we shall find the solution for every problem, the cause for every effect; and since the world within is subject to our control, all laws of power and possession are also within our control." Haanell, part one,7. And, "All possession is the result of the accumulative attitude of mind..."Haanell, part five,28 Attitude?
Is your overall attitude positive or negative? Must you always give an opinion? Must you judge? Are you a listener, or is what you have to save more important? Are you grumpy, or impatient? Is life just not fair? It is evident as we look at a person, "We find that every man is the reflection of the thought he has entertained during his lifetime. This is stamped on his face, his form, his character, his environment."Haanel, part fourteen,17. What you think Matters! "Thought results in action, if your thought is constructive and harmonious, the result will be good; if your thought is destructive or inharmonious, the result will not be good."Haanel, part eight. We have the freedom to think, but the result of our thoughts manifest themselves for our good, or for our ill. We must cultivate an attitude which is conducive to constructive thought.
"Learn to keep the door shut, keep out of your mind, out of your office, and out of your world, every element that seeks admittance with no definite helpful end in view." Matthews Adams.
I came across this scripture during my reading, and it fits appropriately here; "Gird up the loins of your mind.."1 Peter 1:13.
Analyze every thought.
Emmet Fox, and Earl Nightingale inspire this process through our mental diet. Emmet Fox challenges you to a Seven Day Mental Diet, No negative thoughts allowed! This is hard mental labor, but well worth the effort, and life changing. Earl Nightingale suggests thirty days in his The Strangest Secret in the World. Here is an excerpt...
What we think about matters! What we think about grows, what we forget atrophies.
We reap what we sow.
Deep food for thought is Ralph Waldo Emerson's essay on Compensation, "Commit a crime, and it seems as if a coat of snow fell on the ground, such as reveals in the woods the track of every partridge and fox and squirrel and mole. You cannot recall the spoken word, you cannot wipe out the foot-track, you cannot draw up the ladder, so as to leave no inlet or clew. Some damning circumstance always transpires. The laws and substances of nature — water, snow, wind, gravitation — become penalties to the thief." Or on a more positive note.
"If you wish harmonious conditions in your life, you must develop a harmonious mental attitude." Haanel chapter fourteen, 28. "Harmony and happiness are states of consciousness."Haanel part sixteen,37. "It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life, that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself." Ralph Waldo Emerson. We must give, to receive. To receive, we must give.
Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish...The world you desire can be won. It exists.. it is real.. it is possible.. it's yours.” Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
