Master Key Journey: Week Seventeen

CONCENTRATE ON THE REALITIES OF LIFE

"The student who masters the contents of Part Seventeen will not mistake the symbols for the reality; he will be interested in CAUSES, rather than effects.  He will concentrate on the realities of life, and will then not be disappointed in the results. " Haanel, chapter 17.

We read in this chapter if we pursue symbols, as we overtake them they turn to ashes. You may be pursuing the symbol of power, instead of power itself, fame instead of  honor, riches instead of wealth, position instead of servitude. Haanel, chapter 17, part 28

We are to take hold of the basic principles of things, the heart of things, the spirit of things…The spirit of a thing, is the thing itself. We need to get to the heart of things. Haanel, chapter 17, part 31 & 32

BEING in the moment, BEING in the present.  What does life look like? What is your reality?  Concentrate on the realities of Life. We have learned that what we think matters, and that harmony and happiness are a state of consciousness. In Earl Nightingale's, The Seven Day Mental Diet, we are told we choose our moods.  Thats right, I know it is. Otherwise we would be without choice, and we know we have choice. Our mood identifies or colors our response to our reality. Are we fearful, concentrate on courage. Put into action THE LAW OF SUBSTITUTION. FOCUS on the ideal. Relax. womanmagnifying

Being in the moment today, Being in the present today--Concentrating on my reality…my journal would say,  "A fulfilling day of Liberty, Initiative, Kindnesses, and hard work" I cleaned a house that took four hours, normally it takes just two. Came home on a roll, and took initiative (my focus word for the week) and vacuumed my carpeted stairs, and tile floors, then steam cleaned them, along with the guest bathroom. Husband called, heading home from his long day that had him walking out the door at 6:30 am heading to Kansas for a Safety Test, then back to Missouri to one of his sites to complete his work day.  I had dinner ready for this hard working man.  He sat down, and had an alarm at another site.  He finished eating, took a quick 5 minute energy nap, pulled himself together and started out the door.  He figured it would take about an hour.  I volunteered to go along for the drive to keep him company to and from the site. Two and half hours later he was finishing up, he was soaking wet, and Missouri is pretty cold right now. I chose to break my coffee fast for tonight, knowing we both still had to write our blogs for week 17. I happily manifested one of my PPN's (personal pivotal needs), taking the Liberty to keep my husband company while he dealt with an unplanned obstacle. His feet were sore, so I massaged his aching uncomfortable feet.  And then we switched; my lower back hurt, so he massaged my back. Then we headed to our individual offices to think and write…"The first form which thought will find is language, or words; this determines the importance of words; they are the first manifestation of thought."Haanell, chapter 15. I absolutely love that sentence about our thoughts and words.

I am inspired by Og Mandino's words, his words paint pictures in my mind and spur me on to excellence…"I increase my knowledge of mankind, myself, and the goods I sell…I seek constantly to improve my manners and graces."

My life is so full and wonderful! It is not always easy. I've struggled with my mood, my attitude this week, and it wasn't because of someone-it was because of me (Sometimes I give myself permission to be all that I will to be, and other times I struggle). This poem comes to mind. We taught it to our children when they were younger, but it fits perfectly because we are reading in scroll #4, "I am natures greatest miracle."

  1. Great post Geni. Loved the word pictures you used and the finishing quote is really very helpful, I CONCENTRATE ON THE REALITIES OF LIFE, AND I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED IN THE RESULTS. It is so easy to be disappointed by the results that reminding us is encouraging and empowering . Thanks for sharing

  2. The manifestation through words of your thoughts has weaved a tapestry of riches that rest on me like a mantle, prophetic in potential for, as you and each MKMMA sojourner, "I have unlimited potential" ~ what a privilege together to honor and affirm the purpose for which we were born.

I agree, It is an honor to affirm the purpose for which we were born, and to use and to act upon our unlimited potential. I am a Diamond in the rough, chipping off the old blue print. Thank you Nancy for reading my blog, and your always affirming comments.

  4. Geni, you are such an awesome example of perseverance, strength, and support for others. I am blessed to know you, to have you as a part of my life, and to be called your friend. I was touched by the care that you and your Lu show for and to each other, truly expressions of love, which is much more a verb than it is a noun. Makes me think about the Bible statement from I John: God is Love. As the verb, we can see that God is loving (Love in) action. You exemplify this in your life.
